Solo Project
Made Between October 2018 to December 2018 (7 week project)
Engine Used: Unreal Engine (4.20)

Story

The player follows the character named, Hector. He starts off as an innocent person with a normal life but players get to decide how his life either goes out of control or normally like it should've been.

Role

Level Designer

  • Designed and implemented levels with the landscape tool and BSPs to guide players on choices to where the story goes.

  • Designed the branching paths that connects the story of Hector based on where the player chooses to go.

  • Placed and adjusted lighting to create points of interest for players to follow and get to their next destination.

  • Implemented level sequences that prevent players from backtracking into old parts of the story to create a one way road through the game.

Tech Designer

  • Made trigger events that played narrations using in-engine sound system to tell the story of the level.

  • Scripted sounds and music that would play when the player moves into different parts of the game.

  • Implemented a portal mechanic with blueprints to create seamless transitions between levels.

Narrative Designer

  • Wrote the speech lines of what Hector would say in the game as players wonder through each place.

  • Voiced all of Hector's lines to emphasized what he would convey as a player enters certain spaces.
