Game Concept

Short Version: A first-person shooter where players escape a neon digital world using abilities to defeat enemies and traversing through levels.

Long Version: Players use different abilities/bullets like hook shots, explosives, and time slow to beat enemies or travel through the levels. The idea is that the players are escaping a digital space with abilities that they would pick up as they go through different digital levels.

Roles

Level Designer

  • Designed a level in Unreal where players explore a small city-like street that allow players to transition to other levels.

  • Conceptualized and implemented three levels, using Unreal, to allow players to learn the game’s mechanics and have fun using those mechanics.

Tech Designer

  • Prototyped some of the mechanics within Unreal's blueprints so that it would be used in the game.

  • Scripted all major events in the levels, using level sequences and triggered events, to make the levels feel more action-packed.

  • Created a block enemy that changes face and no longer hurt players.

Creative Director

  • Led the team in the direction of the game where the game has certain core mechanics and themes to how the levels would look.
